The winners of the Arnie Wolff Memorial Design Contest were announced at the First Annual Meeting held at Wilder Park on May 19th, 2007.  The Wilder Park Neighborhood Association (WPNA) has been working with the city of Green Bay, the Park & Recreation Department, and Mr. Allen, principal of Wilder Elementary, to establish a site for a memorial/monument remembering Mr. Arnie Wolff.

Mr. Wolff was a neighbor living within the area of our Neighborhood Association but can best be remembered for his dedication to coaching soccer and fighting fires – which took his life in the summer of 2006. The chosen ideas will be submitted to various artists for commission. Prices will go to the Board for approval. Fundraising has begin, and a grant will be submitted this fall to the city for approval. The final plans should be in place and revealed by our annual meeting in May and hopefully, the Memorial will be dedicated by Fall of 2008.

The Fundraiser began during the First WPNA Annual Meeting when a few volunteers climbed into a dunk tank and ended up taking a plunge.

The Association would like to extend a special thanks to Mayor Jim Schmitt, Fire Chief Jeff Stauber, Principal Mark Allen, Aldermen Andy Nicholson, Tom De Wane and Channel 2 Reporter Chris Duffy for helping create such a successful start to the Fundraiser.
